Twice as Fun

by | Aug 23, 2011 | Baseball, Blog, MLB, Sport

I’m going to be honest. Making superhero Foogos is a lot more fun than making Major League Foogos. I’m sure a lot of it has to do with the fact that if you put a gun to my head, I would never give up my comicbook collection, but if you aimed a water pistol at my chest, I promise I’ll never go to Yankee Stadium again.

I like going to the ballpark. Before I die, I’d like to visit every MLB city to catch a game and enjoy soft serve ice cream from a helmet cup. But honestly, I’d rather be at Comic Con. Hell, I’d take Comic Con over the Stanley Cup, too, but that’s probably because I’ve already drunk out of the Cup on three separate occasions, so I’m spoiled on that front.

So what’s all this MLB malaise got to do with anything? This Minnesota Twins art has been my favorite to make to date. By a lot. The Brewers and Astros Foogos were a blast, and as a Phillies fan, it was fun to recreate their iconic “P” – at work, no less… with the janitor looking over my shoulder the entire time in a cross between admiration and disgust, but for some reason, I especially enjoyed myself here. That probably has to do with my love of the scent of mushrooms. It’s a new ingredient for me in these hot dog-themed baseball logos, and in this case, substitutes for the navy blue of the twins’ logo. The rest of the piece is predictably filled out with half a bottle of Heinz ketchup and some sauerkraut.

Here are a few really cool angles of the work:I’m not sure which MLB team to go for next. Go to any of the Foogos pages (or comment here on the blog) and give me a suggestion. Chances are, I’ll go with the first response.
