Since I won’t have any new art to showcase this week, I figured the best way to keep the site fresh would be to highlight some of the earlier Foogos, before “Foogos” was a word or website. What better place to start than at the beginning?
Here’s the Philadelphia Flyers, the first logo art I ever created from food. This was created right after Christmas, when I first got the idea start recreating NHL logos out of food items. Comparatively speaking, this pretty crude in relation to what I’m doing now. There’s roast beef – about a half-pound, give or take – and shredded cheddar cheese placed atop a sheet of butcher’s paper. It wasn’t messy. It was easy to make. I spent about 20 minutes putting this together.
It’s especially a good time to finally add some comments about the oldest son of Foogos because one of my brothers actually happens to have a job interview with the Flyers today! Good luck, Steve. I love free hockey tickets to good teams, and I think the Flyers are taking the Atlantic Division this year.
