First off, my apologies for not having any real Foogos to showcase today, as per the Thursday schedule. I have a few things in my mental queue, but none of them have been put down on paper, a cutting board, the counter, or the stove just yet. I blame the excitement of this weekend’s New York Comic Con.
The Mexicans have stopped making noise at obscenely early hours, but the damage has been done. I’m infected with the urge to paint, no longer from insomnia, but because it’s fun.
The Nintendo Controller (acrylic on 14″ x 9″ canvas) is already spoken for and sold, and there’s nothing cooler than making stuff I like, then making money for it. If you’re interested in any of the other recent paintings showcased here, shoot me an email.
Some notes:
- I originally began this piece with the intention of mimicking the style I painted Tiger Mask and Spider-Man a few weeks ago, but that wasn’t happening, so I went for a slightly more literal take.
- The background was originally an atrocious green.
- My top five NES games were Stinger, Bubble Bobble, The Legend of Zelda, Contra and Star Soldier.
- The Nintendo MAX controller was the best. It had a “turbo” button that was so useful in any game that included a character wielding guns.
I’ll hopefully have some Batman, Nerds and new bacon portraits soon, and check in with sportslogos.net for some new logos, too. Peace.
