Slow day here at Foogos.There won’t be any new artwork this upcoming week as the tempestuous (great word, no thesaurus needed) Passaic River has cut me off from my work studio (mom’s kitchen) and more importantly, my camera. So here’s a look at what’s going on with my WWF design piece.
What started out as recreating every WWF wrestler from the 80s has quickly morphed several times, and the current plan is to incorporate WWF Superstars from 1963 all the way up to 2001.
Why those dates? Buddy Rogers was the first WWWF Champion in ’63, and Chris Jericho was the first Undisputed Champion in 2001.What you see here is NOTHING close to what the final product will be. It’s just a spec sheet of all the characters I’ve created to date. In all, I’m looking upwards of 500 Cubist characters, maybe more. There are other variables that I don’t want to get into and back myself into a corner I’m not ready to come swinging out of.
On a related note, if you’re a wrestling fan, check out Schedule for One Fall. It’s a new wrestling opinion site. Pretty bare bones right now, but I like the bloggers’ writing style, and they post a lot of great videos of classic matches, which is a great time-killer at work, especially if you’re familiar with the F11 Command on the Mac. Anyway, I expect good things from those guys.
